LET US START BY SAYING THANK YOU!

Schools are busy places, and we’re deeply honoured that you have made it to this page and are considering holding a fundraiser for Grow Hope at your school. We know the significant impact initiatives such as these have, not only on the Indigenous young people and communities our Foundation supports, but also on the young people in your school’s community.

SCHOOLS ARE AMAZING PLACES

Five days a week, students come together to learn, engage, be inspired, and contribute positively to society. For the leaders of our future to grow an outlook for community involvement and an awareness of social issues, we need to equip them with the abilities and understandings necessary to serve others with courage and humility.

Schools are so much more than what takes place within the classroom. While learning about Indigenous heritage, culture and reconciliation in the classroom is extremely important, your school can hugely augment this education by fundraising to support the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities who don’t have access to the same educational opportunities.

By supporting Grow Hope, your students can actively contribute to generational change in Australia and learn about what it means to serve their community.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

If you decide to organise a fundraising event or activity for Grow Hope, we can give your school the option to choose which of our programs receives the funds raised. All our projects and partnerships play a part in closing the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians in educational outcomes and employment opportunities.

HOW TO ORGANISE A FUNDRAISER

Your school may organise annual fundraisers for a number of important causes in the community. If not, we have put together this resource, which suggests a list of actions to take in preparation for your event.

Make sure to empower your school’s students to be involved in the organisation and leadership of the fundraiser. Utilise your student representative council, captain for community service, social justice group or similar and support them to take ownership of the impact they’re making.

To get involved or for any queries, please don’t hesitate to email schools@growhope.org.au.
